wooh did a fun fanzine cover design for the university of Canterbury's school of fine art in new zealand. actually enjoyed doing this commission even though it was free. but they let me do my own thing on it ^-^. do love doing my own art thing :P

creating a new portrait piece for a exhibition held in colerado this month. the exhibition is called 'in the midst of hope' which is a charity event to help raise money for awareness for children in uganda. the show is curated by patrick maxcy.

the piece that I'm working on is combined with inspiration from wildlife parts and I'm trying out some new techniques of drawing with my trusty pen, adding a bit of flow and movement in the patterns so it looks like the plans or merging out of the face like air.

hopfully it'll look alright when its finished!

also done a upside down face and a sycadletic looking cat thing (kinda stuff you draw when ur on crystal meth :S). may do more of this type of stuff later next month if i get the time.

finished doing a package design for be street few weeks ago and they finally printed the design onto a pizza style box for there shirt collection.

I pritty much improvised the patterns from my crazy imagination. came out good though :D

Its been a busy month for me on the start of 2011!

as a new start of the year i will most definatly be posting more pieces and sketches up on here so keep your eyes pealed for that :D.

this month iv been comissioned to do a epic wall piece for the amazing be-street for there exhbition at ice shop mess around. you can check them out on http://www.be-street.com/.

i had to create a somewhat winter season landscape that involved a yeti and my style of pattern drawing. this is what i came up with :D:

the wall designs scaled to 11m long and 2 m high which was a challenge for me to scale somthing that big on my laptop, fortunatly i managed to do it and turned out really cool ! the designs where imported onto illutrator and then vectored so that it doesnt pixelate when scaling them.

hopfully will do more of this type of work somtime in the future :)

i was delighted to do some piece for this event that was on at the berlin birght show last week and be featured with cool artist : mcbess, nikibi and main artist CoolRain. heres a write up of the event and some pics:

Every day is a reason to celebrate, 2 years since Be Street printed the first pages, an anniversary we’ll be delighted to rejoice with our German neighbours. The date is set. On July 8th, 9th and 10th, Be Street will be invading the next Bright Edition in Berlin, the European skateboard trade show presenting just every Street culture brand this world has to offer. We’ll be introducing our own collections along with the artist Coolrain who’ll be holding his DUNKEYS expo : a collection of Streetwear figures created by the Korean himself (European exclusive). Also hanging with us are Iain Mc Arthur, Mc Bess and Nikibi. The three artists with whom we’ve been collaborating in the past will be complementing Coolrain’s work with their vision on the same subject. The friendly Bright atmosphere will do the rest: skater demos, expositions, contests and many other shows are to be expected : let’s watch Berlin get on fire !

alas another skull design that iv been comissioned to do. but this time using pencil insted of my usual pen tool. i been comissioned to draw a portrait of elvis presly but in a skull form. which can be tricky unless you plop his hair style on it, wala! elvis presly :P this piece was done for a jewellery making company in france. this will be 1 of the 6 celebrity portraits that will be used for there company.

also done another poster design done on A3 paper and coloured in on photoshop. getting use to colouring on tat program now yay :D. i also post it on http://www.society6.com/ . the design took a total of 7hrs to draw up which really was time consuming and has left my hand really sore :S.

HEYLO!

today the sun is shining and I'm a chirpy, and the reason i am chirpy today is because my shirt design that iv done for 55DSL is uploaded on there site :D. this was a project i done a few couples months back for the worldcup 2010 thing. 10 different artists from different parts of europe where picked to design a shirt to represent there football team. i was lucky to do a design representing england. was a hard design to illustrate but manage to finish it n now its out which makes mi go woop woop :P

today is a sunny day, and i chosen to stay in on this sunny day. crazy?, watever :P.

i would like to go out n do some urban sketching but got no1 to go with so im stayin in as im a loner haha.

Anywhos iv decided to do a shirt design as a lil personal project of mine, seeing as im bored i might aswell!. thinking of doing somthing intricate and authentic, so im going to find some images of different flowers for some ideas , im also going to incorperate a butterfly into the design so it becomes the focus point when looking at it.

I could use a butterfly or a bird, still pondering on which 1 to use.

I got the idea on doing this design from looking at these incredible images on the amazing magical box (a.k.a my laptop) and made mi really motivated in doing somthing floral. some of these images i love looking at as theres so much going on in them and i just love pattern designs.

and they also make mi wanna drew somthing epic :D.

hmm which looks better?

this was a shirt commission i done for a maternity wear, the design is about things that go through a womans mind when there pregnant or things that revolve around choldhood. like cuddly toys and candy ect.

had to do a second version of the design as the 1st design was a tad complicated as it was hard to make out the things in the hair as well as the face looking a bit gloomy.

the second design was much clearer and better lookin, with the face being the focus point as its nice and simple n now shade to it and also the hair is less intricate so the main objects in the hair are easy to make out.

finally finished an immense drawing session on a portrait that is an A2 size, but was well worth it :D. taken me about 3 days to draw the pen detail aswell as making the face look as realistic as possible. this piece is for a upcoming show on http://www.phoneboothgallery.com/. going to be show casing 3 of my best piece for the show.

Today i decided to practise on my hand drawings as im slightly rusty in that department as well as drawing feet , which is a bitch to do if anyone knows what i mean. if only feet was more simple looking , perhaps box shape feet then id be happy :D. thhough box feet would probably suck to wlk about n not very attractive looking... but wateva!.

i done different variety of hand postitions that i have sketched from magazines n photos and also my hand.

i also did a arm coverd in tattoo as i was bored n thought it be fun to do. i then coloured it in on photoshop which i am now use to using, thanks to my trusty drawing tablet, yay!

Hey guys.

This week iv been busy with a few comissions but finally finished a shirt comission iv done for miss charlie bath who i also have done a cd cover design for her new album that will be released on the 27th this month which should be exciting to see!.

the design i did is similar to the style of the cd cover as she wanted the artwork to fit with the shirt design. so i put on my creative hat n came up with a design of a bird but created in a pattern style. was fun to draw but time consuming doing so.

i looked through my trusty book of british birds to get some ideas on feather layouts and different patterns on feathers for this project.

the background i did was improvised but looked at geometrical shapes and plants for reference on it.

also! iv been comissioned to do a CD cover design for miss charlie bath who is a singer and a acoustic player. took mi ages to deisgn up as i had to draw it on A3 size paper and also do it on seperate pieces to be able to scan them in properly so i probably done like 4 pages for it. but was worth it! the detail look immense.

just finished a project iv done for a client called Dinah Daniel who is a artist and also a aromatherapist. i done a logo and branding design for her products which she is pleased with and will be using it for her products soon.

the design is a peacock done in a kind of a art decore style , i did 2 versions of the designs. the first design was too dark and hard to makeout the peacocks head. the 2nd design was much better and clearer which she was satisfied with.

i also done a emblam design for her which is a peacock feather done in my own style.

added my own twist on the theme FOOD for the project. transforming the yummy food on the plate into intricate patterns.

Working progess.

a piece iv been comissioned to do for a shirt company called 55DSL, the project is to create a graphic representation of football but also based on your country of origin. so i figured i do it on england. the character represents the three lions based on the england football team but jazzed it up a bit by adding three lion heads on a body. this is just phase 1 of the project, phase two i nees to coloured it in on illustrator which will take ages to do :S. though it only has to be 5 colour max but im only doing 2 colours as the england football flag is only red n white. though tis gona be hard for mi as i dont use illustrator tat much.

last month i submitted one of my piece to this art compitition in swindon, managed to get 2nd place and £50 vouchers as a reward , shweeeeet! would of like to be 1st place but wouldnt stand a chance against the person who won it. he did a life size portrait painting. frikin impressive it looks. unfortunatly i dont have a photo of the winners piece.

here are some images of the piece that got 2nd place, also the 2 little piece i also submitted to try and sell them. unfortunatly they didnt catch anyones attention, though im going to try and sell them on the internet (fingerscrossed)
